So nice to actually have a pair of pants that fit a woman’s body! Love the high waist and the proportions are perfect. Very comfortable.

Y'all they did it again <3 Squat approved cargos

I had been waiting for some long hiking pants that had real pockets for SO LONG. I love all the pockets, especially the ones that have snaps. The snaps aren't too difficult or easy to open, which I find can be a challenge with other brands. I'm also in full-on bloat mode and I was worried these would be too tight in the hips but they're perfectly spacious and stretchy where needed. It's similar to the Take A Hike shorts 3.0 fabric (could be the same idk). Measured today, waist is ~26", hips are ~37". Sometimes I'm on the fence about sizing up but the XS was perfect. I suggest picking a size by your waist measurement since there's ample space for hips and the 2 waist buttons are probably the limiting factor. Also these are 100% squat approved - didn't have any weird bunching or tightness in the hips when squatting. Overall, 10/10 for functionality. In the one photo I got my fiancé to take, he forgot my request to not include the trash can and towels in the background because he was "so mesmerized by how your booty looked in these pants that I wasn't looking anywhere else" so I guess BUY THESE PANTS lol.

Flattering and comfy!

I wore these the first time today for a moderate hike and was SO impressed with the quality and fit. They moved with me and were super breathable, but also looked so cute for getting lunch after. Def recommend sizing to your waist rather than hips as I had to exchange for a size down (L instead of recommended XL). So happy with them and will be snagging another pair!

My new favourite pants

Amazing pants, they look great have a perfect amount of stretch and keep you both cool and warm on mountain hikes. As soon as they come out in the longer lengths I will purchase every Color.

Fabric and features are stellar, fit not so much

First, the good stuff: the pockets are plentiful and beautiful, the olive is a lovely color, and the fabric feels really good and durable. I only tried them on before returning, so I can't speak to their qualities out in the real world, but I'm sure they would perform well.

However, if you are shaped like me, you might want to rethink buying these. (If you aren't shaped like me, definitely give them a try!) For reference, I'm 5'2", 150 lbs, with most of my weight around my hips and thighs, so vaguely pear shaped and it's generally a struggle to find well-fitting pants. I wear a large in the open air pants for a more trouser-like fit, but fit into the medium as well. I tried the take a hike cargo pants in both the medium and the large and neither was right. The large fit great through the hips and thighs, but was loose around the waist. And yes, there's a belt, but it becomes uncomfortable when you have to cinch that much extra material tight; it creates folds in the waist band that rub uncomfortably against skin. The medium was too tight pretty much everywhere above the knee. The waist technically fit me, but it wasn't a comfortable, wear-all-day kind of fit; it hurt to sit down for long periods of time. Additionally, while there is a lot of stretch in the fabric, the pants felt uncomfortable tight across my butt and thighs. I really wanted to love these, because they're just what I was looking for and I love Alder clothing, but they just didn't work for me.
