Love them, but I could have sized down.

I followed reviewers’ advice and sized up. I wear XL or 2x in most styles. I bought a 2x and 3x to try. My waist is 39, hips 48. I think I could have gone with the XL.I am keeping the 2x, but I have loads of room in the waist. I love the material, pockets, length and ease of mobility!

cute! but sizing is different than the pants!!

I bought these cause I love the take a hike pants! the tan are the pants, and the black are the shorts -- you can see that the tan pants fit well, while the button on the black shorts is fighting for its life. both are XS! I should have gotten a S in these, which is odd since the XS "take a hike" pants fit wonderfully.



For the record, I am typically a small (27.5" waist), but thought I should go with the size that worked in a similar model of this brand.



Unfortunately, since there are no exchanges on discounted apparel, I'm hoping they stretch out enough to be usable!

3.0 shorts fit oddly

I have the 3.0 version of these shorts. There is a lot of fabric in the front and not enough in the back, leading the shorts to ride up my butt with each step. I really wanted to love these as the fabric is really comfy but they are uncomfortable for hiking. The belt is also way too long for the size.

Very different from the 3.0 short

I snagged a pair of the 3.0 short on sale and have loved them so when this came out in green, I went ahead and got these too.

I’ve seen in other reviews that they ran small for people but I had the opposite experience. This was a whole size larger in feel than the 3.0 short. They fall off me and the belt isn’t enough to keep them up. Unfortunately I’m outside of the exchange window so they’ll be more at home than on the trail shorts, but if you’re also plus sized and loved the 3.0 shorts, these are much roomier in the waist.

All around great short, I’m just surprised to see such substantial sizing differences in a similar product. I’d say they’re very comparable to the open air pant. I have to size down in the pants and I feel like I should have with these.
